Hi Gloria! This is an older post but I so agree with what you said and hope you are still enjoying your facebook experience. One of the things I like about it is that it's sometimes the trivial, small stuff of life that bring people together and in our busy times, we don't have the opportunity as much as we'd like to share the small stuff. In past years community was a place where we were up close to the small and big stuff. We didn't have to make time for it... mothers were at home raising children, and would have each other over more to share the small stuff.... families ate together at dinnertime and shared the small stuff.... letter writing and phone calls were depended on to keep close to far away loved ones.... etc. We've lost alot of community with our individualized indoor and career activities so places like Facebook are valuable now to "pop-in" on people and see what they're up to.
I read complaints from people from time to time on Facebook about some posts being too trivial when such serious things are going on in the world... not spiritual enough or something. I think the small seemingly trival stuff is plenty spiritual especially when it brings people together for a laugh or two...or shares a certain quality about someone... or connects the older and younger generations. Anyway...it looks like Facebook is the only way I will ever get to see you or anyone else :) Hope not, but will definitely "see" you there! :)
